ELMA SCHALKWYK - SAAHSP Woman of honour 2025
With 28 years in the beauty industry, Elma Schalkwyk has built a legacy of excellence, integrity, and empowerment. She began as a nail technician and beauty therapist manager before advancing into training, product education, and leadership—supporting professionals across brands such as Perfect 10, IBD, and Cuccio Pro Africa.
In 2013, Elma founded The Beauty Lab Academy, an internationally accredited training centre delivering qualifications in nail technology, eyelash extensions, and beauty therapy. Under her guidance, the academy achieved full accreditation in 2020, supported by a team of assessors and facilitators she personally mentored.
She later established LAB Organization and TBL Group, expanding her impact across education and business. A qualified assessor, moderator, and internal verifier—and a Subject Matter Expert for Quality Assurance with the QCTO—Elma champions Train-the-Trainer development to uphold rigorous standards. Beyond technical mastery, she is a devoted mentor who equips aspiring entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses with confidence and purpose. For her unwavering commitment to education, quality, and upliftment, Elma Schalkwyk is proudly recognised as a SAAHSP Woman of Honour.
